There are many works in which a model's juxtaposition in a natural location where there are colossal structures serve as a way of demeaning and belittling humanity. At many other times, there is a simple fascination for both forms, that of the human body, and that of nature's artwork, in a celebration of both as an achievement of nature, as something to be embraced.
It is true that human beings may look little compared to many rocks and mountains, but we have managed to build structures that are much more grand than mountains in our cities. We have also come up with ways to turn a mountain into dust within a few minutes. We have even been able to visit other grand structures within our solar system. We're in no way minimal or just a helpless prop that's added to the natural scene. We're capable of influencing, destroying, and co-operating with nature. We have stopped being that vulnerable to nature's turbulent temperament a long time ago through the use of our minds.
I think that this gallery has that sort of message; even when Sophia is small, she's always looking up or looking proud. Never looking down or helpless.
It is one of those rare times when highly artistic galleries appear on Domai. I certainly hope that it isn't going to be the last.
