BodyInMind - The Reason Beauty Exists
Beth Autumn BiM Cover

Daughter of the dying magna mater, heiress of shame. Raised up to hyenas's cries, forbidden to carry the flame. Under no aegis she leaves the realm of the dead, venturing into the unknown world to ease her pain, to get rid of the blame. Scapegoat for too long, without even knowing what was wrong. Convicted for being alive, told to live a lie. Rime crawling up her heart.

Onward she strides, a heroine's journey. Courageous and unafraid to face the heroes's nemeses. Scraped by the cold words for too long, now it's time to face the danger and help the ghosts move on. Determined to change the world, to save her sisters. She must not fail.

Walking she encounters Hipocrag, the rat beast. "What is this light that blinds me?, a kernel without a shell. It's you that make the ants bite my hand, you shall be chased with torches.", "I won't wear masks any longer, will stand my ground and defend my freedom, even if my sun doesn't rise again.", with three heavy blows of her magic sword she kills the miserable creature. Butterflies can dance in the sky once again, for the tongue of the bigot has been silenced.

She gaily follows the perilous path, enjoying the mother's song. Followed by the merry flowers, unto a meadow of destruction she walks, with a screaming heart. "Who has killed the innocence?, who has ravished the beauty?". Her grieve is interrupted by the howls of Rabeer, the roaring baboon, "A beauty I see, the murderer of Hipocrag. I shall petrify you, and devour your heart.", "You have burned the roses Hipocrag blamed, I shall not be turned to ashes; may Morald bless me with might to defeat you, and to help the flowers blossom without fear", with a mighty strike she pierces the darkened chest of the monster. Flowers have nothing to fear but Sosaitan, the blind spider. She marches to kill it, to make the sun rays shine freely, to stop the spring from dying.

She marches for 7 days and 7 nights, encountering four sees in the way. Finally she meets the most horrible of giants, Sosaitan, that kills without mercy and traps the butterflies in its web. It's the final duel, Sosaitan has always been successful in creating many Rabeer's and Hipocrag's. "Who dares to awaken my slumber?, I can feel a warm soul. How can anything be so pure?, where's the power of my venom?. I have sprinkled it on the tree of life, it seems that someone managed to stay alive. It won't be for long, for your pure-heart shall perish, my web has entangled all of the radiant souls, and my venom made them entrapped in darkness. Maidens shouldn't reveal their glory, and you shall shortly meet the fate of those who breach my creed. My victims have been infested with Hipocrag's plague; they will defend me, soon a mound will be raised for you.", "Your beliefs attract the flies. You once were sighted and right, what changed you?, where's your wisdom?, what made you lifeless, why do you teach abashment?, why did you betray your kin?, is freedom a sin?. The serpents of the shrine have blinded you, and you feel nothing but treachery and hate. Your tongue is filled with spears. You shall never break my heart. I can't kill you, for you are a god, but I will use all my power to destroy your wormy heart, it may open your eyes and let you see that we all can be free". The most powerful of all the giants, Socaitan, almost kills her, but she succeeds in burning Socaitan's heart by piercing it with a lighting bolt. She opens her bosom and takes her heart, using her last bit of strength to give it to Socaitan. Socaitan is suddenly transformed into a lioness of justice. The bards sing of wisdom, the falcons soar in the heart of the blue father.

She dies the death of a heroine, and the hyena's still scream. Red tears can't bring her back to life, she's gone, but she's here.
